It is always a treat to visit the Seafood Shack anytime we go through Ullapool. This outdoor food stall run by Kirsty and Fenella is famous for its mahoosive haddock wraps. The queues down the road are justified!

Our Experience
Our journey with the Seafood Shack started with disappointment and ended with, well, many happy returns to this food truck in Ullapool. On our first visit, we both ordered the soup. The seating area outside was packed, so we took our soup back to the van.
When we opened the containers, there was a noticeable slick of oil on top—some of which dripped off the lid and onto Mark’s new trousers. Not exactly the most appetising start. After a bit of deliberation, we took the soups back.
The person serving us must have been Kirsty or Fenella—I’m not sure—but she took the soups back with no questions asked, gave us a refund, and offered to make us each a haddock wrap. (Folks, that is how you do customer service.)
We’d seen people around us manoeuvring these mahoosive haddock wraps, and said we didn’t want anything quite so huge. She replied, “Oh, I’ll make you a kids’ wrap.” (Not on the menu, but now we know it’s a thing!)

And OMG, this haddock wrap—filled with basil pesto mayo, loads of salad, and the crispiest, tastiest piece of fish I’ve ever had—was absolutely knock-out. It’s what keeps bringing us back to the Seafood Shack again and again. (I still order the kids wrap, with extra salad.)
(And yes, I do intend to give the soup another chance!)

Travel Tips
I highly recommend grabbing a copy of their book, The Seafood Shack: Food & Tales from Ullapool. It includes some awesome recipes – including the wrap! – and interesting history about the fishing industry in Ullapool.
